Getting Started

The basics

Simple Bins is a home inventory app that helps you organize physical storage — bins, boxes, shelves, drawers, and any other container you use at home. You organize everything into a three-level hierarchy: Locations (e.g. Garage, Attic) contain Bins (e.g. Blue Tote, Shelf A) which contain Items. Search across everything instantly to find where anything lives.
Download Simple Bins from the App Store on your iPhone, create a free account, and start adding Locations. Then add Bins to each location, and Items to each bin — either manually or using AI Scan to photograph a bin and let AI identify the contents automatically.
Yes. The free plan lets you create 1 Location, 2 Bins, and up to 10 Items. AI Scan preview and Bluetooth label printing are included on the free plan. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited everything.
Yes. Simple Bins is currently available on iPhone. Your data syncs to our servers so it's available whenever you sign back in with your account.

Features

AI Scan

Open a bin in the app and tap the AI Scan button. You can take a new photo or pick one from your photo library. The image is sent to an AI service that identifies the objects it can see. You'll get an editable list of detected items — review, add, remove, or rename them — and then save them to the bin. On the free plan you can preview AI Scan results; saving requires a Pro subscription once you've hit the free item limit.
Your photo is sent to an AI service for recognition purposes only. It is not retained by the AI provider beyond the duration of the request. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The editable list shown after scanning lets you add, rename, or remove items before saving. For best results, try a well-lit photo with the bin contents spread out and visible. AI recognition is helpful but not perfect — your edits are always the final word.

Label Printing

Simple Bins currently supports the NIIMBOT B1 Bluetooth label printer with 50×30mm labels. The printed label includes the bin name and a QR code that deep-links directly back to that bin in the app.
Navigate to any bin and tap the label icon. You'll see a preview of the label with the bin name and QR code. Tap Print — Simple Bins will scan for nearby NIIMBOT B1 printers, connect automatically, and send the print job. Make sure your printer is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
Try these steps:
  • Make sure the NIIMBOT B1 is powered on and in range (within ~10 meters)
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  • On iOS, make sure you've granted Simple Bins Bluetooth permission in Settings
  • Try turning the printer off and back on
  • If the printer is paired to another device, disconnect it there first

Workspaces & sharing

Go to the Workspace screen (via the profile icon or settings), enter the email address of the person you want to invite, and send the invitation. They'll receive an invite link by email. Once they accept, they'll have full access to all locations, bins, and items in your workspace.
No. The subscription is per workspace, not per person. If the workspace owner subscribes to Pro, all members of that workspace get unlimited access — they do not need to purchase their own subscription.
Yes. Workspace owners can remove members from the Workspace screen. Removed members lose access to all workspace data immediately.

Billing & subscriptions

Tap Upgrade to Pro from the Account screen or from any upgrade prompt in the app. You'll see options for monthly ($4/month) or annual ($40/year) billing. Payment is processed through the App Store — we never handle your payment details directly.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not directly by Simple Bins. To cancel:
  • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Simple Bins → Cancel
You'll retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
Sign in with the same account you used when you purchased. Then go to Account → Restore Purchases. Your subscription will be re-verified with Apple and Pro access will be restored automatically.

Account & data

Go to the Account screen and tap Delete Account. You'll be asked to type "DELETE" to confirm. This permanently deletes your account, workspace, and all associated data (including photos) from our servers within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Your data stays safe. If you cancel Pro and return to the free plan, you'll keep all your existing locations, bins, and items — you just won't be able to add new ones beyond the free plan limits (1 location, 2 bins, 10 items) until you re-subscribe.
